The WordPress Themes Team has reported significant progress in its March 11, 2026, update, highlighting a streamlined ticket review process. With 779 tickets opened and 762 closed in just one week, the team shows an impressive management of theme submissions.

Currently, the theme directory is handling 17 new tickets awaiting review, with none older than four weeks, indicating a swift turnaround. The team has managed to keep only seven tickets pending for more than a week, demonstrating enhanced efficiency in processing.

In the same period, 731 tickets were made live, including six new themes and 725 theme updates. Meanwhile, 17 themes are approved but await publication, showcasing a robust pipeline of new content ready to enhance the WordPress ecosystem.

Block Themes and HelpScout Performance

The block themes segment remains active, with 35 block themes under review and one new block theme going live recently. This aligns with the growing interest in block-based themes, reflecting the community’s shift towards modern WordPress design principles.

Additionally, the HelpScout stats reveal 24 email conversations in the past week, with a 67% resolution on first reply, highlighting effective communication and support within the community.

The Create Block Theme plugin has now surpassed 20,000 active installs, underscoring its popularity among developers. However, it faces 67 active issues and 7 pull requests on GitHub, suggesting ongoing development efforts. Similarly, the Theme Check Plugin is dealing with 15 pull requests and 43 issues, reflecting active community involvement in maintaining quality standards.
